| Ken
is a man who is passionate about three things: God, family and sports.
Ken grew up in Florence, OR and graduated with a BA in education from
Puget Sound Christian College in 1978. Ken soon took his first job in
Christian ministry that same year as pastor of education and ministry.
Ken is unusual in the fact that his first job in ministry is still his
first job in ministry. Ken has served faithfully here at Canby Christian
for over 28 years now. During his many years of service he has led our
youth on 17 missions trips to Mexico working with ministries like Amor
to build homes and reach out and help bring hope to the poor and needy
families in Mexico. Ken also has directed many summer camps at Camp Winema
since 1978 and has served as a trustee for Puget Sound Christian College.
He currently serves on the N.W.C.E.A. board of directors. |

Ken and his wife, Chris, who is an RN at Salem Hospital in Labor and Delivery, are devoted parents to 7 children: Emily (who is a children’s pastor at Central Christian Church of East Valley in Mesa, Arizona) and her husband Travis, Audrey (production manger at Puget Sound), Kara (a junior at Puget Sound), Ben and Brett (are both sophomores at Puget Sound), Katie is in 5th grade and the youngest, Bonnie is in 2nd grade. With a family of this size you might think the man must not have any time for leisure. Well, let me just say that one of Ken’s loves is sports. He has coached at Canby High School, been a basketball official at Ackerman middle school and still finds time to play a little basketball every week. He’s also a devoted Cowboys fan (we don’t hold that against him…much) |
Ken was elected as Senior Pastor late last year and it's been amazing to see the congregation respond to his laid back style of teaching. Ken has a way of just capturing the scripture and bringing it to life in unique and fresh ways. So, we are very excited to see how God is going to use Ken as our next senior pastor. |
