Let's GO!

by Brandon Chase:

Early in life, I decided that I wanted to travel and experience the world God gave us. My first trip without my parents was a trip to Washington D.C. with my eigth-grade class. My next trip was a mission trip to Mexico with Canby Christian Church my Freshman year, then again my Sophomore year in high school. Since then I have had the privilege and blessing to be able to travel to many different states here in America and several countries around the world. I absolutely love experiencing new places and different cultures. I think this is why I have such a love for international missions—because I can experience different cultures while serving our Lord and Savior.

I want to share with you three upcoming trips that our church will be participating in over the next two years. I hope that you may have an interest in joining us on one or more of these trips.

Our annual Spring Break Mexico Mission Trip is coming up next March. We will be traveling to Baja California, just south of Ensenada, where we will partner with a local church to do evangelism in the community, VBS with the children and construction work on the church. This is a family trip and appropriate for families and individuals of all ages. The trip will be March 19 through March 29, 2020. We will be having our first informational meeting in early November, and we will announce a time and date soon.In the summer of 2020, we will be going to Uganda.  This mission trip will be open to all church members and will be very appropriate for somebody traveling to Uganda for the first time (or second or third time).  We will get a good overview of the work Africa Renewal Ministries does throughout Uganda, and we will spend the majority of our time working with the village of Kacungwa.  At the end of our trip, we will also spend two days doing a safari and a cruise on the Nile River.  We will be having an informational meeting on Sunday, October 13 at 2:00 pm in the Fireside Room. I would encourage any of you that are curious about this trip or a future trip to Uganda to join us for this opportunity to learn and ask questions. I hope to see you there.

In the fall of 2021, we will be going to Israel.  Pastor Aaron asked me to put together a trip to Israel for our church family. This will not be a missions trip but a tour of the Holy Land. What a great opportunity to spend time with our church family exploring the places we have all read about in the Bible, to walk the streets where Jesus walked, to see with our own eyes the sites described in the Old and New Testament. We will be working with a Christian guide who will take us to many different areas in Israel and teach us the significance and importance of each location from an open Bible. We will share a lot more information about this trip in the future, but we wanted to get the word out a full two years in advance.  Start saving your money now so you won’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime and life-changing trip. We will probably have our first informational meeting about this trip in the Spring of 2020.

I hope you will prayerfully consider joining us on one or more of these upcoming trips.  Please don’t hesitate to ask me any questions, I’d love to chat with you.

In His Service, Brandon Chase
